Be part of the transformation at Knights Park!

Help increase habitat provision and enhance the riverside environment by signing up to help at our biggest biodiversity volunteer project yet!

Volunteers needed for Hogsmill Riverbank Creation!

Play your part in transforming the Hogsmill River at the Kingston University Knights Park campus. Together with The South East Rivers Trust, we will be constructing a natural riverbank to increase habitat provision and improve its appearance. Over three phases, we will introduce timber deflectors, brash and gravel into the river, and then plant it up. This will encourage natural river processes which form a diverse range of habitats for all manner of wildlife. We need lots of volunteers to make this a reality, so please sign up for as many dates as you can!

No prior experience required, all tools and equipment will be provided with instruction, plus a tasty lunch and refreshments will be laid on.

Phase 1: Staking of timber, Mon 24, Tues 25 February, 10am-4pm
Phase 2: Riverbank building, Sat 15, Sun 16, Mon 17 March, 10am-4pm
Phase 3: Planting, Wed 02 April, 10am-4pm

To ensure we have enough waders, (and lunches!) sign up by emailing biodiversity@kingston.ac.uk
